Take part in this modern twist to the ancient Japanese art of Raku firing.
Watch as the glaze bubbles, then matures to a glossy finish, to be removed
RED HOT, and placed in a barrel of sawdust which produces dramatic effects.
Make your own clay shapes or use precast and fired bisque pieces.
No experience needed.
We have clay, glaze, and bisque available at an additional charge or you can
bring your own.

Kiln #1 16inches to 20 inches with collar 23" wide

Kiln #2 12inches to 20 inches with collar 23" wide

Please remember height of kiln is reduced by 2-3 inches for "cookies" plus a
minimum of half an inch clearance at top.

You should book extra kiln loads in advance if possible.

NO  glaze allowed on the bottom of the piece.

Current pottery students will not pay extra for bisque firing but must purchase
glaze. You can share glaze with other pottery students & TNC.
